About

I provide daytime care for children 4 months to school age in my home in the Kensington/ City Heights area of San Diego. I nannied for children of all ages starting when I began college in San Diego in 2004. I’ve been running this daycare since July 2016, first in my home in University Heights and now in my home in Kensington.

I honor even the youngest infants by allowing them to develop at their own paces. I encourage respectful  child development by fostering honest, authentic, and responsive relationships between the little ones and myself. To get a feel for my style, I recommend checking out RIE (Resources for Infant Educarers) and Janet Lansbury’s parenting books or podcasts.

I offer lots of homemade foods with a focus on organic produce, including supporting local CSAs. I allow the children to choose their own play activities based on a lot of open ended manipulatives. Magnet tiles are a big hit. Paper and crayons/ markers are always available. We have dozens of books to read and make a point to read stories each day before nap time. Pillows and blankets have unexpectedly been one of our most popular open-ended toys of choice! We get outside almost every day.

If you have a particular parenting or daycare-operation question you’d like to discuss with me or get my take on, please email me to discuss a phone or Skype consultation.
